Getting Started in MM2 of The Monsters
Join the right Roblox place, read keys and nights, and finish your first nest without wasting the taser.
MM2 of The Monsters is a free Roblox horror round that launched on 28 August 2026. Creator group forzik221 runs place 100860415498291. Servers are online 1 vs All with a 30-player cap. One player is the monster — the Locust is the current headline body — and the rest are survivors. It is not Murder Mystery 2, not single-player, and not on Steam. Your first hour is joining the correct place, reading the HUD, and not dying in the spawn hallway.
After you can last a chase, move to How to Survive the Locust and the controls sheet. If you already intend to hunt, keep How to Become the Monster open.
Join a public nest
Open the official Roblox page for MM2 of The Monsters, like it so it stays in Continue, and join a public server. You want a populated nest, not an empty test. Vote during map voting. House-style layouts hide more lockers; hotel-style floors have longer corridors and more windows. Both play darker and larger than the classic MM2 rooms they resemble. A familiar staircase is not safe just because you remember it from another game.
Stay in the lobby long enough to see the shop button and the codes button. The box is live even when there is nothing to paste. When a string drops, how to redeem codes is the click-path; the codes hub and expired codes track what still works.
Read the HUD before you sprint
The left side of the screen tracks keys. The top tracks nights. Keys are the currency you pick up on the map and spend in the shop. Nights tick as you survive rounds, not as a real-world clock. If those numbers never change, you are dying instantly or ignoring pickups.
Open the shop once before your first real chase. You will see monster bodies, a taser, a camera, and a paid key bundle. Bodies are for the hunter role. The taser is the survivor panic tool (~5 second stun, limited use). The camera is the information gadget. Buy a taser before a cosmetic body. Rankings live on the item tier list.
Movement is WASD or the left stick. Sprint on keyboard is Left Control, not Shift. Interact is the on-screen prompt (E on most PC Roblox places). If those binds feel wrong, open the controls tables instead of improvising mid-chase.
First-round objectives
You do not have a sheriff gun and you do not vote a murderer out. Survive the player monster, collect keys when it is safe, and learn two loops on the map you just voted.
- Spawn, turn a full circle, and note a locker, a stair, and a window.
- Walk, do not sprint, until you hear the monster. Sprinting in an empty hall is noise.
- Pick up keys on your path. Skip an underground detour for a single key on round one.
- If the Locust appears, break line of sight around a corner, then hide. Straight corridors are highlight footage.
- Save the taser for melee range. A five-second stun is a door, not a farm tool.
Hiding language — lockers, vents, under-floor rooms, windows, secret pockets — is expanded on Best Hiding Spots. You only need one working locker and one vent on night one.
What not to do in hour one
Do not follow a crowd to a TV, a loud prop, or a player waving at the monster. Crowds are free meals. The Locust is another person with a Q special and a reason to check lockers, not an NPC set piece. Do not spend first keys on a body you cannot play yet, spam the taser at long range, or screenshot the HUD in spawn while the hunt starts.
Mobile players should look at the extra action cluster when the round starts. Survivor buttons and monster buttons are not the same overlay. If you later buy a body and nothing attacks, you missed the new buttons — that failure is on How to Become the Monster.
Codes, keys, and the shop
As of September 2026 there are no working promo codes. Still learn the redeem box so a drop is a ten-second pause. Keys also drop on the map and can be bought in the shop. Spend them on stun tools first, then on a body only if you want to hunt. The Locust is commonly listed around 100 Robux; other creatures cost keys. Compare bodies on the monster roster and the monster tier list instead of buying the first thumbnail.
Revive may appear after you die and can cost resources. Use it if you are still learning the layout. Skip it if you are broke and the monster already knows your locker. Nights increment for players who last; dying instantly teaches less than one full chase.
Where hour one should end
A useful first hour is not twenty deaths in the same hallway. It is: you joined the forzik221 place, voted a map, can find keys and the shop, know Left Control sprints, hid once on purpose, and did not waste the taser at 40 studs. After that, pick a job. Survivors go to How to Survive the Locust. Hunters go to How to Become the Monster. Patch context is on the Locust update notes. Next sitting starts on the Guides Hub, not the Roblox description.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for survivors and hunters in MM2 of The Monsters.
Is MM2 of The Monsters free and already released?
Yes. It released on Roblox on 28 August 2026, it is free to play, and it runs online 1 vs All servers with a 30-player cap. Place 100860415498291 is the forzik221 listing.
What should I do in my first round?
Vote a map, note a locker and a stair, pick up keys on your path, and hide after you break line of sight. Full chase tactics are in How to Survive the Locust.
Where do I redeem codes?
Use the in-game codes button, usually top-right. There are no active codes as of September 2026. Follow how to redeem codes so you are ready when the codes hub lists a new string.
What should I buy first in the shop?
A taser, then a camera if you play information-heavy. Monster bodies wait until you want to hunt. See the item tier list before spending a thousand keys on a weak body.
How do I become the Locust?
Unlock or buy the monster role in the shop. The Locust often costs about 100 Robux. Steps, Q specials, and mobile attack buttons are in How to Become the Monster and the Locust dossier.
Why does sprint not work on Shift?
Keyboard sprint is Left Control in this place. Full survivor and monster binds, including mobile, are on the controls sheet.
