What you are actually fighting

Locust is player-controlled, not an NPC. A doorway camp is a person. A peel toward lockers is a person who heard you. Treat it like a hunter with a special, not a scripted jumpscare. Map vote, keys, taser, camera, powers, bodies still apply. We rank it S for pressure. Plan the round around it — there is no Nikilis knife meta here.

Abilities and controls

Basic attack plus a special — often Q on keyboard. Survivors sprint with Left Control. Mobile buttons: controls. Use the special on door piles, not a vented solo. Dumping Q in an empty hall tells the lobby where you are. Play the siren presence: cut stairs, check lockers, skip footraces down lit halls against sprint powers. Survivor buys: item rankings.

How to play as Locust

Unlock in the shop — commonly ~100 Robux, sometimes keys. Seat: how to become the monster. After map vote, listen; do not spawn-rush the loudest room. First minute: stairs, locker banks, secrets on hiding spots. On a cluster: special, basic attack, nearest locker. If you get tased, leave the dead-end — a five-second closet stun donates the round. Re-approach from a second angle. Keys on the floor are bait; play the player, not the pickup. Do not tunnel one survivor across the whole map while 20 others loot in the other wing. Locust pressure is a lobby tool; waste it on a single chase and the night runs out on you.

How to play against Locust

Assume it is in your wing until you have camera info. Do not taser at 20 studs. Hold melee after you break line of sight, then sprint (Left Control) into a locker or vent — not the same hallway. Habits: how to survive. Do not stack lockers; the special loves piles. Revives may cost resources. Vote maps you know.

Counters that actually work

1. Taser (~5s). In range, with an exit. S-tier on the item list.
2. Lockers, vents, secrets. Break line of sight first. A lit hall with a locker behind you is not hiding.
3. Sprint (Left Control). After the stun or a corner, not a panic hold from spawn.

Camera tells you which corner is dead. Cosmetics do not. Key drops: codes. Banner context: Locust update.

Locust wins when survivors run straight and fire taser early; survivors win when they cut a corner, hide, and stun only in melee. The siren silhouette is scary on purpose. The shop price is a number. Nights still use map vote; revives may still cost resources; keys still fund the next taser. The round is a 30-player search on a voted map — play the search, not the thumbnail.
